Holiday Reading

Our Paul Lynde biography is included on this "holiday reading" list. I've only read two of the suggested titles: Center Square, natch, and Holidays on Ice. Fleeting references to Cher appear in both.

Center Square: The Paul Lynde Story

A slightly altered edition of the Paul Lynde biography is out. Nothing is drastically different, but a few typos were fixed and a link to my website was added.

Steve & I poured over the draft dozens of times, had other people do the same, passed it on to our editor for the same reason, and yet weird things still appeared in the final product. Much to my embarrassment, one of the typos was the misspelling of a friend's last name in the acknowledgments! Actually that's not a typo really, just confusion on my part: my friend has the same last name as one of my favorite actresses, but it's spelled slightly different. For some reason, I always use her spelling.

Even if you don't buy the book, feel free to follow the link to amazon.com and read some of the blistering reviews. Everyone's a critic!

The Scoutmaster!

Paul's "appearance" as The Scoutmaster on the "Radioactive Man" episode of The Simpsons is included in the 7th season box set, which will be released on December 13. We''ll have to wait awhile for his most recent "appearance"- in a clip from the fictional-but-certainly-believable Paul Lynde - Helen Reddy - Hudson Brothers Easter Special. That'll be on the 15th season box set.

Donny & Marie

It's not the complete season set of The Paul Lynde Show that I dream about ... but it's still good. A best-of compilation for The Donny & Marie Show is coming to DVD next spring. Since Paul Lynde popped up on every other episode (or so it would seem) there's a good chance he'll be included in some of the material, which, according to this news item from TVShowsonDVD.com, is being selected by Donny himself.
